EVENT WORK
Roles: Event ideation/concepting, creative direction, asset creation, coordination/production, occasional emceeing
I’ve had the opportunity to create and produce a wide variety of event experiences (with a wide variety of brand partners) over the course of my career, from intimate multi-course dinners to larger branded activations to a giant party tent at Formula 1 attended by 10,000+ guests over three days.
In every case, the goal is the same: to craft a dynamic experience that surprises, delights and drives emotion. Make the guest feel seen. Let them participate. Give them something unexpected. Something unique and unforgettable. The brand affinity will follow, guaranteed.
fEvo fan lounge, f1 austin
fevo // allianz
When FEVO’s creative team was tasked with taking over the F1 fan lounge situated on the iconic first turn at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, we knew it had to be something special. And thus we went all out with a gorgeously appointed VIP lounge overlooking the track, a racing simulator activation with a continuous leaderboard and prizes for the fastest times, a series of limited-edition signed race posters created by some of Austin’s leading artists, and a curated series of performances by the city’s most celebrated underground party DJs. The resulting bacchanal has earned the FEVO Fan Lounge a reputation as THE party for US Grand Prix attendees in the know. If you find yourself at COTA for F1 weekend, go check it out.
fevo fest miami
fevo // united airlines // checkout.com
FEVO celebrated its sixth (and most successful) year with a massive blowout at Miami’s iconic Fontainebleau Hotel to celebrate our clients and partners. 700+ guests were treated to three days of activations and programming, including a pop-up salon/spa on the hotel’s La Côte Lawn, an oceanfront “Havana Nights” soiree with hand-rolled cigars and the Afro-Cuban rhythms of Celia Cruz All Stars, a speaker session that included renowned author Rishad Tobaccowala and Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, a Riviera-themed brunch and pool bash, and a black-tie “Old Blue Eyes Ball” worthy of the Rat Pack, capped off with a jaw-dropping fireworks display over the ocean. Every detail was considered, creating a truly immersive experience that FEVO’s clients still talk about to this day. Seriously, they won’t shut up about it.
SPEAK EASY
INSIDEHOOK // HYUNDAI
InsideHook partnered with Hyundai on a bi-coastal series of secret pop-up salons in SF and NY at which influencers gathered to enjoy craft cocktails, good company and intimate “fireside chats” with thought leaders including suitmaking legend Martin Greenfield (rest in power, king!) and Hotel Tonight co-founder and CEO Sam Shank (very much still alive).
the INSIDEHOOK chili bowl
INSIDEHOOK // Timex
Timex wanted to align with the worlds of both culinary and sports, which naturally meant that InsideHook needed to bring together chefs from some of New York’s hottest restaurants for a chili cook-off and tailgate party. Guests were treated to multiple elevated, original chili takes, craft cocktails, hand-rolled cigars and a cornhole competition before enjoying the Giants/Cowboys showdown on a massive outdoor projection screen. I yelled some stuff into a mic at one point and people seemed to enjoy it.
made by hand
INSIDEHOOK // jack daniels // shinola
InsideHook partnered with Jack Daniels Single Barrel and Shinola on a takeover of Shinola’s Tribeca flagship store for an evening celebrating all things made by hand: from craft cocktails to custom hat making to tintype portraits to timepiece tutorials, this was an evening about the importance of true craftsmanship and the superlative, timeless results it yields. And, you know, whiskey.
THE GREAT STEAK DEBATE
INSIDEHOOK // AUDI // timex
InsideHook partnered with Audi on this multi-city culinary event series at which guests (as well as judging panels of esteemed food critics, chefs, authors, etc) gathered at celebrated steakhouses to sample steaks from the best purveyors in the nation and vote on their favorites. Owing in no small part to the fact that eating copious amounts of steak prepared by famed chefs like Marc Forgione is awesome, this series became an annual tentpole for InsideHook and was eventually done in partnership with Timex as well.
the bespoke bazaar
INSIDEHOOK // articles of style // oris // jo malone london
Watches and suits and fancy cologne and quality cocktails were a big part of our coverage purview at InsideHook, so it made sense to put them all under one roof for an evening and invite a bunch of our readers. The suiting geniuses at Articles of Style were on hand to dole out sartorial wisdom and do fittings, while Oris showcased their handsome timepieces and Jo Malone London gave tutorials on how to layer scents effectively. Tanteo Tequila provided the spicy margs.
iron mixologist
INSIDEHOOK // kirin
To spotlight Kirin’s rebellious brand spirit and create an outside-the-box beer experience, InsideHook enlisted the help of New York’s premier mixologists to stage a first-ever Iron Chef-esque beer cocktail competition. Each mixologist created their own custom cocktail using Kirin beer as the secret ingredient and then came together to mix them in real time for guests to sample and then vote for the winner.
Rare finds
INSIDEHOOK // crown royal
To celebrate the launch of Crown Royal XR (which, for the uninitiated, stands for “extra rare” and marks one of the brand’s rarest expressions featuring some of the last whiskey from the renowned LaSalle distillery), InsideHook hosted a soiree celebrating all things rare and superlative. In addition to Crown Royal XR, guests enjoyed the world’s rarest Kobe beef direct from Hyogo, Japan, a pop-up photo portrait studio utilizing dead stock Polaroid film that will never be made again, and a DJ set by Jared Samuel created entirely from the rarest funk and soul records in his vast vinyl collection.
THE GREAT MOVIE DEBATE
INSIDEHOOK // CITI
InsideHook’s Great Steak Debate had been such a smashing success that we decided, “Why not try something similar with movies?” So we hosted a pre-Oscars party at NYC’s famed Um Segredo Supper Club, where chef David Santos (no stranger to awards in his own right) crafted a menu of dishes inspired by the year’s nominees and attendees drafted their ballots for Oscar night. Good natured arguing abounded.
A dram good time
INSIDEHOOK // the balvenie
Sometimes it’s cold outside and you just want to find a cozy venue to enjoy some good conversation and a drink that warms you up — this was the thinking behind a Balvenie Scotch tasting hosted by InsideHook and at midtown speakeasy The Rickey, where guests enjoyed Balvenie cocktails before being treated to a walk-through of the brand’s signature expressions (and some quality banter) by ambassador Lorne Cousin.
AN EVENING WITH INSIDEHOOK AND SEIKO
INSIDEHOOK // SEIKO
Ever wonder what kind of craftsmanship goes into a luxury watch? InsideHook and Seiko partnered to answer that question with a combined cocktail party and timepiece tutorial session at which guests sipped craft libations and learned from Seiko’s in-house experts what goes into making a luxury watch and how best to care for one. Lesson One: don’t try to take one apart yourself, especially if you’ve been drinking.
inspired by excellence
INSIDEHOOK // remy martin
To celebrate the launch of our “Inspired by Excellence” content series featuring rebels and rule breakers from the worlds of fashion, design and hospitality, InsideHook and Remy Martin hosted a cognac tasting and cocktail party at NYC’s premier private supper club Omar’s in downtown Manhattan. Good crowd, great cognac.
AN EVENING WITH INSIDEHOOK AND THE GLENLIVET
INSIDEHOOK // THE GLENLIVET
InsideHook partnered with The Glenlivet to host an intimate five-course dinner (with
Scotch pairings) for a curated collection of movers and shakers from the
worlds of media, tech and finance at iconic NYC hotel The St. Regis.
